Larson, 58, of West David Highway, rural Ionia, died late Thursday in Blodgett Memorial Medical Center, Grand Rapids. Born in Portland May 15, 1925, she was the daughter of Louis and Emma Whittmore Hoennicke, and attended Portland Public Schools, graduating from Portland High School in the Class of 1943. She was married to Melvin Larson Oct. 20, 1945, in Portland. They made their home all their married life on West David Highway. She was employed at American Anodco for 14 years until illness forced her retirement in 1981. She was a member of the LeValley United Methodist Church. Surviving are her husband, Melvin; three sons, Gary, Michael and Steven, all of Ionia; one daughter, Mrs. Richard, Shereen) Lytle of Ionia, five grandchildren; her mother, Mrs. Emma Hoenicke of Portland; three sisters, Mrs. Beulah Briggs of Lansing, Geraldine Hoenicke of Warren and Mrs. Kenneth (Donna) Johnson of Orleans. Funeral services will be Monday at 1 p.m. from the Leddick Funeral Home, with the Rev. Willis Braun of LeValley United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Balcom Cemetery. The family will be at Leddick Funeral Home Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A memorial has been established for the Ionia County Unit of American Cancer Society, in the care of the funeral home. Sentinel-Standard - September 13, 1983 IONIA- Funeral services for Jean K. Larson, 58, of rural Ionia, were Monday at 1 p.m. from the Leddick Funeral Home. The Rev. Willis Braun of the LeValley United Methodist Church officiated and organist was Josephine Barna. Burial was in the Balcom Cemetery. Pallbearers were Keith Benedict, Leonard Hausserman, Howard Sprague, Joseph Larson, Patrick O'Mara and Thomas Wood. The Kansas City Judging Team attended in a group. Following graveside services, a luncheon was served to friends and family at the Berlin Center Grange Hall.
