The late Mrs. LaSalle had lived in Portland practically all her life, coming here with her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Franklin M. Cutcheon, when a young girl. During her long residence here, which covered a period of over forty years, she made a wide circle of warm friends who were greatly shocked at the news of her death, although her passing had been anticipated for a number of days. Mrs. LaSalle was a member of the Portland Congregational church, always taking an active interest in its affairs to which she devoted a great portion of her life, being a devoted church member and leading a Christian life that was the admiration of all with whom she came into contact. Two years ago, with her husband and daughters, the Misses Katherine and Mary, she moved to Lansing, where the funeral services were held today, in charge of Rev. C. E. Taggert, pastor of the Portland Congregational church. Interment was made in the Portland cemetery where she was laid to rest beside her husband, the late Edward LaSalle, who passed away one year ago last March.
