The Portland Observer, Thursday, December 9, 1915

Funeral services for Thaddeus P. LaSelle, mention of whose death from a 
chronic attack of strangulated hernia was made in The Observer last week, were 
conducted early Saturday morning at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Peter M. Grieve, 
where death took place.  After the service the remains were taken to North 
Plains township for burial.  Rev. John H. Stewart, of Portland Baptist church, 
conducted the last rites.

Mr. LaSelle came to North Plains township from Dansville, N.Y., his 
birthplace, when but 19 years of age and resided there continuously until 15 
years ago, when he located at Maple Rapids.  For the past five years he had 
resided alternately with his son, Ernest A. LaSelle, and his daughter, Mrs. 
Grieve.  He was a fine old gentleman and to know him was to admire him.
