Robert Peter Lassner, 87, of Orleans, Mich., passed away on Saturday, Nov. 16, 
2013.  He was born on Feb. 10, 1926, in Detroit, Mich., the son of Peter and 
Rose Lassner.  

Mr. Lassner was a police officer with the City of Detroit for 25 years, and 
also served with the Ionia County Sheriff Department for several years.  Robert 
was a veteran of World War II serving in Patton's 3rd Army at the Battle of the 
Bulge and he received three Bronze Stars.

Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Alice Lassner; five sons, George (Karen) 
Lassner of Waterford, Michael Lassner of Vancouver, Wash., Daniel (Elaine) 
Lassner of Rideway, Ill., Joseph (Oiunchimeg) Lassner of Orleans, and Robert G. 
Lassner of Phoenix, Ariz.; nine grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.

The Memorial Mass will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013, at Ss. Peter 
and Paul Catholic Church, 434 High St., Ionia, with Rev. Thomas Boufford 
presiding.   Arrangements are entrusted to Lehman Funeral Homes, Ionia Chapel.
