Belding - Kerry W. Laster, 43, Belding, passed away Saturday, Sept. 29, 2001 at
Spectrum Health, Butterworth Campus, Grand Rapids.  He was born March 24, 1958,
in Florence, S.C., the son of Fulton and Dixie McDaniel Laster.

Kerry earned an associate’s degree from ITT and attended First Congregational
Church, Belding.  He served in the United States Navy, enjoyed NASCAR racing and
bow hunting.  He was a loving son, husband, father and grandfather, and will be
greatly missed by his family and friends.

He married Julie Rieckman April 18, 1981, in Rockford.  She survives along with
their children, Harrison, Anthony and Jared, all at home, Kerry McLaren Laster
and Darrell Wayne Laster, both of South Carolina; his mother; two brothers and
sisters-in-law, Keith and JoBeth Laster of Goose Creek, S.C., Ken and Sherry
Laster of Hemingway, S.C.; two nieces and two nephews.  He was preceded in death
by his father in 1996 and one brother, Karroll, in 2000.

Funeral services are 11 a.m., Tuesday at First Congregational Church, Belding,
with Pastor Dick Woodward officiating.  Interment will be in Fort Custer
National Cemetery, Augusta, at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday.  Visitation is 7 to 9 p.m.
today at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding.  Memorial contributions may
be made to Alvah N. Belding Library.
