KATHERINE LAUGHLIN
LAKE ODESSA - Mrs. Katherine Laughlin, 94, formerly of the Lake Odessa and
Clarksville areas died Saturday night at the Barry County Medical facility near Hastings where
she had been the past two years.

Born in Odessa township October 16, 1878, she was the daughter of George F. and Mary
Richards Becker.

In 1907 she was married to Dr. Arthur I. Laughlin a resident of Woodbury where he 
practiced medicine ten years before moving to Clarksville to continue his medical
practice. He died in 1937.

Mrs. Laughlin later moved to Lake Odessa and lived with a sister, Mrs.Anna Reisser.
Since then she had been a patient in rest homes eight years.

She was a member of the Lake Odessa Congregational church and life member of the 
Order of Eastern Star chapter of Clarksville.

Surviving are a son, Gaylord Laughlin of Monroe; two grandchildren and five great-
grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at Pickens-Koops funeral chapel in Lake Odessa Tuesday at 3
p.m. Rev. Gary Lyon of Vermontville will officiate and interment will be at a cemetery at
St. Johns.
