Ionia Shoppers Guide - Nov. 2011/ Hastings Reminder - Dec. 3, 2011


HASINGS, MI - Timothy Harold Laux, age 66, of Hastings, passed away on Sunday, 
November 27, 2011 at MagnumCare in Hastings.

He was born April 18, 1945 in Ionia, the son of Harold and Hazel (Brandt) Laux. 
He graduated from Lake Odessa High School with the class of 1963.

He would later work a number of years at Fisher-Body Plant in Lansing. He 
retired from Ray-Don Bindery in Grand Rapids. 

As a young boy he loved to hunt and fish. Coon hunting with his faithful 
companions, Doc and Lady was his joy in life. As his health began to slow him 
down, fishing was his joy. His chosen fishing spots would be Peddler Lake in 
Lake Odessa and Middle Lake in Hastings. He was also known for his well-tended 
vegetable gardens. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Jim in 2000. 

Tim is survived by his life partner of 31 years, Donna Jackson; daughter, Vicky 
Sweet of Ionia; sons, Michael (Angie) Laux of Ionia and Timothy Dean of Ionia; 
grandchildren, Brad, Daniel, Clayton, Michael Jr. and Eric; sisters, Joan Brock 
of Lake Odessa, Pam (Ed) Hull of Ionia, Peg Patrick of Saranac; many nieces and 
nephews. 

Graveside memorial services will be held Saturday, December 10, 2011 at 11 a.m. 
at lakeside Cemetery in Lake Odessa.
