Death was caused by heart trouble. Mr. Laux was one of the dependable, high character citizens of his home township. His farm was one of the finest kept places in the community and he was interested in anything which pertained to the welfare of not only himself, but his neighbors in general and his passing will be learned of with genuine regret by a legion of friends. Surviving are the widow, Odelia, two sons, Augustus, who with his family reside at the old homestead, and James, of this city and the Miriam district; two brothers, Joseph Laux, of Ionia, and William Laux of this city. Funeral services are being held this Thursday morning at 9 o’clock from St. Mary’s church at Miriam, of which the deceased was a lifelong and devoted member, with Rev. Fr. Ralph J. Kelly officiating, and burial will be in the cemetery at Miriam. Pallbearers acting at the funeral are: Andrew Breimeyer, Ferd Breimayer, Anthony Reitz, Joseph Zahm, Theodore Albert and Anthony Marhofer.
