Laux, 88, of Belding, passed away Monday, Jan. 27, 2003, at Spectrum Health-Kent Community Campus, Grand Rapids. She was born Nov. 15, 1914, in Belding, the daughter of Charles and Bertha Shindorf Breimayer. Eileen was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Miriam, and St. Mary’s Altar Society. She married James Laux on June 26, 1934. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Laux, on April 19, 1982; her parents; and two brothers, Andrew Breimayer and Lewis Breimayer. She is survived by her children, Fredrick and Pat Laux of Ionia, Joann M. McGuire of Rockford, Joyce and George King of Greenville, Gary and Donna Laux of Lowell, Carroll and Richard Huff of Grand Rapids; a sister, Katherine Roback of Grand Rapids; 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian burial was 11 a.m. today at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Belding, with Father Joseph Reitz officiating. Interment is in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made of St. Ann’s Home-St. Joseph Haven, Alzheimer’s unit. The family is being served by Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home.
