Sentinel-Standard - Wednesday, Nov. 7, 1956

Mrs. Ethel Laux, 71, of route one, Ionia, widow of Anthony Laux, died early 
Wednesday morning at her residence following a seven months illness.

She was born in Keene Township September 14, 1885 and was a daughter of Frank 
and Margaret Finch. Mrs. Laux lived her entire life in Ionia county and at her 
present residence since 1943.

Mr. Laux died in 1954.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Solomon Hershberger of Flint and Miss Dorothy 
Laux at home; three step daughters, Mrs. Lyle Houghton, Ionia; Mrs. Lloyd Mear, 
Freeport; Mrs. Leon Vandecar, Woodland; one brother, Earl Finch, Ionia and a 
sister, Miss Hazel Finch of Ionia.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the 
Stone-Kauffman funeral home.
