Gilbert Garth LaVean, age 79, of Jenison (formerly of Saranac), went to be 
with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2008.  He will be lovingly 
remembered by his wife, Eleanore (Knop) LaVean and brother, Ward (Helen) 
LaVean.

The funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at the Cook Memorial Chapel 
(4235 Prairie SW—Grandville—East building) with Rev. Elwood Norton 
officiating.  Interment will be at Saranac Cemetery.  The family will meet 
with relatives and friends on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Cook 
Funeral Home (West building).   Memorial contributions may be made to 
Independent Bible Mission (749 Lamoreaux NE, Comstock Park, MI 49321) or 
I.M.I./S.O.S. (P.O. Box 116—Hudsonville, MI 49426).
