Excerpts from Grand Rapids Obituary

LAVEAN (KNOP) ELEANORE "ELLIE" LOUISE
Died Wednesday May 26, 2021-age 85.
Daughter of Gertrude and Anthony Knop.
Preceded in death by her husband, Garth LaVean; parents; sister and brother-in-
law, Marlon and Dick DeMol; and brother-in-law, Vern Richey.
Survived by her sister, Ethel(Tom) Murphy; brother, Wayne (Ardith) Knop; and 
many nieces & nephews.
Ellie was a alumnus of Grand Rapids School of Bible & Music, serving many years 
as Alumni Secretary & worked at Bethany christian children's Home.
Many foster children benefited  from her kindness & welcoming home.
Visitation will be Tuesday, June 1, 2021 from 1-2 p.m at Cook Memorial Chapel 
(East Bldg)4235 Prairie St. SW, Grandville, MI 49418
A Celebration of her life will follow at 2 p.m. 
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Kenya Hope or Pathway to 
Victory.
