Sentinel-Standard - Tuesday, June 10, 1952

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. for Mr. Orie 
LaVere, 70, of Belding who died at her home there Saturday.

The services were conducted from a Belding funeral home with burial at 
Rodney cemetery.

Mrs. LaVere had been ill in her home for the past four years but she has 
been an artist for the past two years making greeting cards and Christmas 
cards at home.

She was born January 8, 1888 in Mecosta and came to Belding in 1919 with her 
husband. She was a member of the Christian Science church.

Surviving are her husband, Raleigh; two daughters, Mrs. Jeannie Koponen of 
Detroit and Miss Lois LaVere at home; five sisters, Mrs. Clarence Park of 
Belding, Mrs. Carl Hafer and Mrs. Fred Simons of Crystal; Mrs. Irvin Durbin 
of Hubbardston and Mrs. Tracy McConkle of Flint; two brothers, Orval 
Thompson of Balding and Eugene of Lansing; and three grandchildren.
