Lavery died Sunday morning at 3 o’clock at the home of her son, Jerome Lavery, which has been her home for a large part of the time for two years. She has been sick for nine weeks but cause of death is given as old age. She was 87 years old. She came to Orleans with her husband, Eli Lavery, in 1865, from Orleans county, N.Y. She was widely known and highly esteemed. Her husband died in 1886. Seven children survive: Mrs. Lucy Lawrence, New York state; William, Lakeview; Minnie, wife of George Deline, Easton; Augustus, Montcalm county, Amanda, wife of Gilbert Powlison, formerly a merchant in Ionia, now of Traverse City; George, Wisconsin, and Jerome, janitor at courthouse, Ionia. Funeral at Orleans church, on Tuesday, at 1 p.m. Interment Orleans cemetery.
