Ronald H. Laviolette, aged 83, of Ionia, passed away Sept. 14, 2009.

He was born Nov. 7, 1925 in Aurora, Wis., the son of Ronald J. and Elizabeth 
(Ellingson) Laviolette. He entered WWII as a merchant Seaman before joining the 
Air Force post war. Ronald married Phyllis Brown March 28, 1958 in Ionia. He 
received his masters degree in teaching from MSU. Ronald taught for the Belding 
& Lakewood schools for many years. He also worked for the prison as a reading 
instructor and for NESC. Ronald collected guns and enjoyed history.He loved 
building boats, writing, photography, snowmobiling, sailing and all outdoor 
recreational activities, especially in Detour, Mich.

He is survived by his wife Phyllis Laviolette of Ionia; brothers, Bill 
Laviolette of Elk Rapids and Dan (Karon) Laviolette of Freeland; nieces and 
nephews, Joe of San Diego, Sue of Farmington Hills, Lisa of Lexington, Mich., 
Martha of Boulder, Colo., Linda of Lawrenceburg, Ind., Karen of East Tawas and 
Lynne of Traverse City and sister-in-law Dorothea (Fred) Daniels of Plainwell. 

As requested there will be no services. Funeral arrangements by Lake Funeral 
Home in Ionia. You may make memorial contributions to the Michigan Heart 
Association or the Michigan Cancer Association. Online condolences may be made
