Ionia Daily Sentinel - 7 Sept 1976
Dorr C. Layle, 82, S. State road, Lake Odessa, died at the Provincial House in 
Hastings after a four year illness.  Born June 15,1894 in Odessa township, son 
of George and Annie Layle, he was a life long area resident.  On November, 28, 
1918 he married Florence King of Woodland who survives.

He was employed at Hayes Manufacturing in Ionia before purchasing a farm west 
of Clarksville in 1928.  In 1943 he sold that farm and bought a farm north of 
Woodbury.  He also worked at A.C. Spark Plug in Ionia and the Lake Odessa 
Canning Co.  He retired in 1959.

Surviving besides his wife is a daughter Mrs. Alice Strimback of Lake Odessa 
and a step-son Dale King of Middleville, ten grandchildren and 23 great 
grandchildren.

Services will be Wednesday at 1:30 pm at Pickens Koops funeral chapel in Lake 
Odessa.  Burial is in Lakeside cemetery.
