Lake Odessa Wave 
FLORENCE LAYLE

   Florence Layle, age 83, of Lake Odessa, died Friday morning in Pennock Hospital
at Hastings.  She was born April 1, 1895 in Woodland, the daughter of Allen and Alice 
(Vannon) King and attended schools in Woodland.  
She taught for some time in Woodland and worked at the Lake Odessa Canning Company
until her retirement.
   A lifelong area resident, she married Dorr Layle November 28, 1918 and they lived
in Clarksville until 1944 when they moved to Lake Odessa, Mr. Layle preceded her in death 
September 6, 1976. Mrs Layle lived in the Provincial House at Hastings since February, 1976.
   Survivors include:  one daughter, Mrs. Alice Strimbeck of Lake Odessa;  one son,
Dale King of Lake Odessa;  10 grandchildren:  24 great grandchildren and one great great 
granddaughter.
   Services were held Monday at 3:30 p.m. from the Pickens-Koops Funeral Chapel in
Lake Odessa with Rev. Edgar Perkins officiating.  Interment in Lakeside Cemetery.
