The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Monday, March 12, 1973
George Layle, 85, died Sunday morning at his home at 236 East High in 
Hastings.  He had formerly lived in the Clarksville area and had been a 
resident of Hastings the past 30 years.  Born in Barry county near Hastings 
June 4, 1887, he was the son of George and Anna Kreiss Layle.  He was a 
retired farmer and factory worker.

Surviving is a brother, Dorr, of Lake Odessa.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at Pickens funeral chapel in 
Lake Odessa.  Rev. Harold Price of Freeport United Brethren church will 
officiate and interment will be at Lakeside cemetery.
