Frances Theresa Mary Layton, 87, passed away on Sunday, May 30, 1999.  She was
born on Oct. 18, 1911, in Westphalia, the daughter of John and Anna (Schneider)
Lehman.  She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church where she was
sacristan for 33 years and also a member of the Altar Society.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; sisters, Katherine, Rosie,
Pauline, Mary, Mattie, Iola and Alma.  Brothers, Nicholas, Hubert, and Bernard.
 Surviving are many loving nieces and nephews.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Chris W. Rouech,
Associate Pastor, at 11 a.m., Wednesday, at St. Patrick’s Church, with Rite of
Committal following at Portland Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at
the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, 1301 E. Grand River Ave., Portland, today
from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.  The rosaries will be prayed at 3
p.m. and 8 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Art Esch, Dick Lynch, Shaun Lehman, Mark Lehman, Chris
Foote, Jeff Lehman, Vern Schrauben and Bernie Lehman.  Honorary pallbearers will
be Doris Beard and Elmer Esch.  For those wishing, memorial contributions may be
made to the CSA/Parish Building Drive, 140 Church St. Portland, 48875, in memory
of Mrs. Layton.
