At the age of eleven years she came with her parents to Michigan and settled in North Plains township, Ionia county. In 1868 she was married to William Lazarus, since which time her home has been in Carson City. One son, George, was born to this union. For four years she has been afflicted, her difficulty bringing on paralysis which was the immediate cause of her death. For many years she has been an earnest Christian and departed this life strong in the hope of a better world. The text used is an expression of her hope - “If a man die shall he live again.” She leaves to mourn their loss a husband, a son, two brothers, two sisters, many nieces and nephews, and a host of friends. Rev. H.V. Wade officiated at the funeral services, which were held Friday, December 20, at Wesley hall. Interment was made in the Carson City cemetery.
