Ionia Sentinel Standard, 27 Dec 1977

Ionia – Esther B. Leach, 94, of Orleans, died Sunday evening at the Ionia Manor
where she had been a resident for the past eight years.  She was born in Ronald
township November 29, 1883, the daughter of ?? and Frances ??? Pierson and was a
teacher at rural schools in the Orleans area for over ?? years.

Her husband, Ernest, preceded her in death in 1972.  One brother, Robert
Pierson, also preceded her in death.

She was a member of First Christian church and a life member of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include one brother, Roland Pierson of St. Petersburg, Florida; two
nephews, Leon and Elwyn Pierson of Orleans and two nieces, Mrs. Arthur (Esther)
Hodson of Orleans and Mrs. Homer (Elayne) Moore of Ionia.

Services were Tuesday afternoon from the Leddick funeral home with Rev. Kenneth
Harger of Shiloh Community church officiating.  Burial was in Orleans cemetery.
 Bearers were Leon and Elwyn Pierson, Rean and Byron Hodson and Dan and Rex North.
