The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, August, 2009

Frances Ann Leach age 89 of Ionia passed away August 30, 2009 at her home. She 
was born July 13, 1920 in Leavenworth , Kansas the daughter of John and Mary 
Catherine (Schlonga) Harrington. Frances married Russell E. Leach July 6, 1946 
in Massachusetts he preceded her in death in 1978. She was a nurse in the Navy 
during WWII.

She is survived by her children; Catherine Leach of Ionia, Pat and Ray 
VanDerVelde of Saranac, Linda Leach of Ionia and Russell Leach of Ionia; 1 
sister and 2 grandchildren, Brian and Russell VanDerVelde.  Frances was 
preceded in death by her parents, husband and 4 sisters.

Private family services will be held at a later date. The family will receive 
friends and relatives Tuesday 6-8:00 P.M. at Lake Funeral Home in Ionia. 
Anyone wishing may make memorial contributions in Frances’s name to Shiloh 
Community Church or Ionia Humane Society.
