              SAMUEL LEAK DIES FRIDAY EVE., SEPT. 15

                                  ------------

      FUNERAL AT THE HOME AT WEST SEBEWA, MONDAY. 

LEAVES WIFE, THREE DAUGHTERS, LARGE CIRCLE OF FRIENDS

                                   ------------

   For several years Samuel Leak has been in poor health's a result of a "cavein" in
a gravel pit in which he was 
working, not far from his home.  Mr. Leak received injuries about the abdomen and
has since his accident had 
a number of operations.  Each time, although benefited, yet he seemed just a little
less able to do the lighter 
work about his farm.

   Last week he was taken with another attack and was rushed to a Grand Rapids
hospital where he died 
Friday night. The funeral was held Monday afternoon at the home at West Sebewa.  The
home was filled with 
many relatives and friends who sympathize with the family in their deep affliction.
An only son was drowned 
two years ago when in his twelfth grade at Lake Odessa high school.  Rev. H. T.
Adamson of the Baptist 
church, his pastor, preached the funeral sermon.  Rev. Raymond Durkee of Lansing
offered prayer.  Mr. and 
Mrs. R. W. Goodemoot accompanied by Mrs. Allyn Goodemoot sang.

   Burial was at Lakeside cemetery.

   Besides the widow he leaves a daughter Mrs. Gilbert Brock, a graduate of Lake
Odessa schools; a daughter 
Lorraine now a union in the same school, and a little daughter Annabelle, at home. 
He leaves two brothers 
David and Edwin, and two sisters Mrs. Etta Barker and Mrs. Libbie Caswell, all of
this place, and a sister Mrs. 
Emma Day of Edmore.
