Mary Ellen LeClear, 83, of Greenville, died Friday, December 12, 2003 at 
Holland Home Hospice Center in Grand Rapids.  She was born August 23, 1920 in 
Detroit, the daughter of Paul and Cora Nicholson Vander Maas.

She was a member of First Church of god in Greenville and the Greenville Senior 
Center.

She was married to Walter V. LeClear on March 23, 1940 in Detroit.  He preceded 
her in death on October 13, 2002.  She was also preceded in death by her 
daughter, Beverly Vander Molen on December 8, 1998; her brothers, Harold, Paul, 
and Frank; and her sister, Violet.

She is survived by her children, Thomas and Bonnie LeClear of Kalamazoo, 
Douglas and Marcella LeClear of Coloma, Marilyn and Jim Greenwood of Grand 
Blanc, Barbara and Bruce Raver of Wyoming, Sandra and Bill Kellum of Greenville 
and son-in-law Nick Vander Molen of Stevensville; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-
grandchildren; her sister June and Jim Pettis of Florida; brothers-in-law 
Norman and Betty LeClear and Robert LeClear of Ohio; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are 2:30 p.m. Monday at the First Church of God, Greenville, 
with the Rev. David Perry officiating.  Burial is in Rest Haven Memory Gardens, 
Belding.  Visitation is 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday.  Memorial contributions may be 
given to the First Church of God.
