The Portland Weekly Observer, Wednesday, May 4, 1887

John Lee, a young man who has been around Portland for some years, working on 
farms in the summer and spending the winter season in the village, died at the 
boarding house of Abe. Hill on Sunday morning last.  He was buried from the 
Universalist church Monday afternoon.  He had no relatives here, but has a 
brother and sister living near Buffalo, N.Y.  They were telegraphed to, but 
could not come.
