Gene J. Lee, of Keene Township Saranac, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 8, 1998 at
Heartland Health Care in Ionia.  He was born May 15, 1917, on the family farm in
Keene Township, to the parents of Adelbert (Nancy Frost) Lee.  He was a member
of the Easton United Methodist Church.  He married Emma Dell Weeks, in Ionia, on
December 12, 1941.  She preceded him in death in 1993.

He is survived by one daughter, Elva Jean and Eugene Anderson of Saranac;
daughter-in-law, Marcia Lee of Ionia; four grandchildren, Brian Anderson of
Saranac, Christopher and Louise Anderson of Saranac, Jean and Robert Cooper of
Ionia and Robert E. Lee of Ionia.  Five great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at the Easton United Methodist Church,
with Rev. Thomas Reaume officiating.  Interment will be in Saranac Cemetery. 
The family will receive friends and relatives on Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7
to 8:30 p.m. at the Lake Funeral Home in Saranac.  Anyone wishing may make
contributions to Ionia Area Hospice, Helping Hands or Easton United Methodist
Church.
