She had been in failing health for some time and was taken seriously ill nearly two weeks ago. She was born in Durham, Ontario, April 14, 1857, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Thompson and she came to Michigan with her parents when she was nearly two years old and settled in Keene township. She attended school in Keene and was married February 22, 1881 to Judson Lee, also of Keene. They began housekeeping in that township and had resided there until 22 years ago when Mr. Lee died and Mrs. Lee moved to Ionia. After residing here two years Mrs. Lee moved to Saranac where she continued to reside for the past 20 years. She was a member of the Saranac Methodist Church and the ladies aid society, an active member in the WCTU, and a member of the Saranac order of Eastern Star. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Charles Sparks, who resided with her mother in Saranac; Mrs. Montgomery Webster, Ionia; and Mrs. James Hughes, of Detroit; a niece Mrs. Alvena Good, who teaches at Kalamazoo, and who had resided a number of years with Mrs. Lee; a sister, Mrs. Alvin Wright, of Oakland, California, and three grandsons. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon. There will be a short prayer service for the immediate family at the home and services will be held from the Saranac Methodist church at 2:30. Rev. W. E. Ragan, of Perrington, formerly of Saranac will officiate and he will be assisted by Rev. Paul Schanzlin, pastor of the Saranac Methodist Church. Interment will be at the Pinckney cemetery in Keene township.
