The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Friday, January 20, 1967


Mrs. Catherine Minty Lee, 61, former resident of Ionia, died in her sleep early 
Thursday morning at Clearwater, Fla.  Mrs. Lee was born in Ionia, May 22, 
1905,the daughter of MR. and Mrs. Alex Minty.  December 9, 1937 she was married 
to Charles Lee in Indiana and for the past 11 years made their home in 
Champaign, Ill.

She was a graduate of Ionia high school and for the 19 years an employee of 
First Security Bank in Ionia.  She had been employed in the athletic department 
in charge of ticket sales at University of Illinois.  Mr. and Mrs. Lee and her 
sister were spending the winter in Clearwater, Fla., arriving there December 
15, 1966.

Surviving are her husband Charles and one sister, Mrs. Frances Calkins of 
Lansing.  One sister Mary preceded her in death, September of 1962.

Funeral services will be Sunday, 2:0 p.m. at Mittendorf funeral home, 
Champaign, Ill.  The body will arrive in Ionia late Sunday and prayer services 
will be at Boynton funeral home Monday, 3 p.m. with Rev. Robert McComb 
officiating.  Interment in Minty family lot at Highland Park cemetery.
