She was a pioneer resident of Keene township and was known throughout the community as "Grandma" Lee. She was born in Plympton, Canada, February, 1848, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Adin Converse. In the early fifties she moved to Muskegon with her parents and later came to Ionia county. In 1868, she was married to Hiram N. Lee, who preceded her in death in October, 1918. He had been sheriff of Ionia county from 1885 to 1889. Mrs. Lee was the oldest member of the Valley chapter, No. 27* of OES and was a member of the Methodist church and the Ladies Aid in Saranac. She is survived by her son, Adelbert; two grandchildren, Gene J. Lee and Mrs. Elva Parker of Sand Lake; a sister, Mrs. Clarence York, of Detroit and a brother, Frank Converse, of Belding. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Stone funeral home, Ionia. Burial will be in Saranac cemetery.
