LEE The Day The Music Died
David J.C. Lee, age 65 of Lake Odessa passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 
2020. He was born on January 4, 1955 to J.C. and Anita Lee Walnut Ridge, 
Arkansas. The  family moved to Grand Rapids  in 1955. In 1968 David's mother 
and step-father relocated the family to Ionia.

David started playing music at an early age and fell in love with the guitar. 
He spent hours strumming various chords to Little Black Egg G.L.O.R.I.A. and 
I'm Eighteen. Music became his outlet and true love. Those who knew him best 
will catch an easy smile recalling his talents of song writing and singing 
about nuances of scenes around him. Music brought him many dear friends and 
gigs throughout his life, but his favorite past time was sitting around the 
living room making memories through music. We will remember his joyous sprit 
whenever we hear the sound of an acoustic guitar.

David is survived by his children, Bridget (Dustin) Gless of Lowell; his 
beloved son Zachary Lee of Lake Odessa; mother and step-father, Anita and 
David Mier of Ionia; brother Robert (Amber) Lee of Ionia; sisters, Marsha 
(Mitchell) Emmons of Holland, Shelly (Randy) North of Grand Rapids and 
Shannon (Scott) Graham of Ionia; and grandchildren, Matthew Gless, Maddux 
Gless and Olive Gless. He was preceded in death by his father, J.C. and 
brother, Johnny Lee.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 12-3 PM on Saturday, April 11, 2020 
at the Ionia Moose Lodge. Arrangements in Care of Lake Funeral Home of Ionia.
