DIES AT M-44 AND M-66 INTERSECTION An auto accident at Woods Corners late Thursday afternoon took the life of Mark Leetch, well known resident of this city. He was returning to Muir, his present home, and attempted to pass a county road truck at a point near where M-44 joins M-66 and in doing so struck the truck, coming west on M-44. When help arrived 15 minutes later, he was pronounced dead, Mr. Leetch was born April 25, 1872, in Wayne county, the son of Mr. and Mrs. DeWitt Leetch, and at two years of age moved to Clinton county near Fowler, living there 25 years. He married Mary Ewald in April, 1897, at Pierpoint, S.D., and they came to Belding in 1908. Mrs. Leetch died in 1946. Mrs. Leetch was superintendent of the city water department for many years until his retirement a few years ago. Last year he married Anna Bennett of Muir and she survives him. Other survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Ada Bailey, and three grandchildren, Robert, Roger, and Mary, of Pentwater. He was a member of the Church of Christ, Masonic lodge, Odd Fellows and Rebekahs. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 o'clock at the Fales-Huffman Funeral Home with Rev. W.F. Reynders of the Church of Christ officiating and the Masonic lodge will conduct a memorial service. Burial will be in East Plains cemetery, Clinton county.
