Lehman, 72, of Belding, passed away Wed. Feb. 5, 2003 at United Memorial Health Center in Greenville. He was born August 13, 1930 in Ionia the son of Fred and Grace Sprague Lehman. He served in the US Navy and was a member of the VFW Post 4406 in Belding. He was a Past Worshipful Master and a member of the F & AM Belding Lodge 355. Leo was also a member of the First Congregational Church in Belding and the T.P.A. of Greenville. In his earlier years Leo was a volunteer firefighter for the City of Belding and had retired from the U.S. Post Office as a rural letter carrier. He married Marilyn Reed on June 30, 1951 in Belding and she survives along with their children, Valerie and Dick Peacock of Grand Rapids, Andrew J. and Kathy Lehman and Suzanne Kruger all of Belding. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Angela and Dave Ross, Andrew, Michael, Jennifer, Kayla and Krista; his great grandchildren, David Andrew and Jonathan Ross; his brothers and sisters, George Lehman, Caroline Smith both of Belding, Eldon and Jane Lehman of Stanton, his sisters-in-law, Jackie Badersnider of Belding and brother-in-law, Dan and Nancy Reed of Ionia and many nieces and nephews. Leo was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Kathleen and his brother, Russell. Funeral and committal services for Leo will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Johnson- Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding with Pastor Kendall Downing and Dick Woodward officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 2-4 and 6:30-8:30 p.m. Interment will be in Rest haven Memory Garden. Memorial contributions may be made to Make a Wish Foundation or the Belding Museum.
