March, 2012 Marilyn J. Lehman, 80, of Belding, passed away peacefully with her children at her side on Saturday, March 24, 2012 in Greenville. She was greeted in heaven by her husband, Leo, parents and grandparents. Marilyn was born on Nov. 7, 1931 in Shiloh, the daughter of Robert C. and Elsie M. (Morris) Reed. She graduated from Belding High School with the class of 1949. After high school, Marilyn attended County Normal, earning a teaching certificate and taught at Smyrna School for three years. On June 30, 1951 she married Leo M. Lehman in Belding. For a number of years Marilyn worked at Swanson's Furniture in Belding and was co-founder of Mari-Mar Sales in Belding. She was a long-time member of the First Congregational Church, Belding, played in the church bell choir and was a member of the Kate Shannon Fellowship. Marilyn was the longest serving member of the Thimble Club. She will be dearly missed by her family, her church family and many friends. Marilyn was preceded by her husband Leo in 2003 and her parents. She is loved and survived by her children, Valerie and Dick Peacock of Grand Rapids, Andrew J. and Kathy Lehman of Belding, and Suzanne Krueger of Greenville; five grandchildren, Angela and Dave Ross, Andrew M. Lehman, Jennifer and Rhet Goodman, Kayla and Krista Krueger; four great grandchildren, David, Jonathon, Eliot and Kason; her sister and brother; Jackie Badersnider of Belding, Dan and Nancy Reed of Ionia, her sister-in-law, Caroline Smith of Belding; a brother-in-law, Eldon and Jane Lehman of Stanton; and special cousin, Madeline Christensen. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding with Pastors Paul Hulford and Byron Davey officiating. Private committal prayers will be in Rest Haven Memory Gardens, Belding. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the First Congregational Church or the Belding Museum.
