The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Monday, February 9, 1953
Mrs. Michael Lehman, 85, of 122 Adams street died Monday morning, February 9 
at the Ionia Rest Home where she had been a patient for about a month.  She 
was born Caroline Ritt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mathias Ritt, June 12, 1857 
in Denzlingen Baden, Germany.  She moved to Ionia in 1882.  She was married 
May 23, 1888 to Michael Lehman.  Mrs. Lehman had been a resident of Ionia and 
Ionia township for 70 years.

Surviving besides the husband are seven sons, Leo of Klamath Falls, Ore., 
Theodore, Harry and Clement of Ionia, Clarence of Hubbardston, Fred of Palo 
and John of Lake City; three daughters, Mrs. Josephine Thomas of Harvey 
Oedars, N.J., Mrs. Marion Hurd of Lansing and Mrs. Lillian North of 
Hubbardston; 21 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at the Stone-Kauffman funeral 
home.  The Rev. Court G. Adams will officiate.  Interment will be I Highland 
Park cemetery.
