He was born May 19, 1864 in Posen, Germany. He came to Odessa township in 1883 and in 1886 was married to Caroline Ritt, who died in 1953. For 20 years Mr. Leman was employed in the Pere Marquette railroad shops. After working for the railroad Lehman farmed until his retirement. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Reynold Thomas of Harvey Cedars, N.J., Mrs. Howard Hurd of Lansing, and Mrs. Robert North of Palo; seven sons, Leo of Klamath Falls, Oregon, John of Lake City, Clarence and Fred of Palo, and Theodore, Harry and Clem of Ronald; twenty-one grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2:30 p.m. at the Stone-Kauffman funeral home by the Rev. Court O. Adams. Burial will be in Highland Park cemetery.
