The Ionia Standard, Friday, October 4, 1918
Matthias Lehman, aged 80 years, died on Monday at Reed’s Lake sanitarium, 
Grand Rapids, where he had been for the past four weeks.  Deceased had been a 
resident of Ionia county for more than fifty years, living near Belding.  Old 
age, more than anything else is supposed to have caused his death.  The 
remains will arrive here Wednesday morning on the 7:08 and will be taken to 
Lowrey & Boynton’s from where interment will be made in Oak Hill cemetery, at 
2:00 o’clock.
