He was born in Lake Odessa on Sept. 28, 1927 to Earl and Essie (Webster) Lehman. He attended Lake Odessa High School, graduating in 1945. Pete was proud to have served in the United States Navy from 1945 to 1948. He retired from the Michigan Reformatory after 25 years of service. Pete enjoyed bowling, hunting, fishing, sailing, and watching his two grandsons' sporting events. He also loved riding his motorcycle. He is survived by his son, Mike and Diane Lehman of Lake Odessa; grandchildren, Travis and Lisa Lehman of Portland, Kayci Lehman of Lake Odessa; and Mike Lehman II of Lake Odessa; great-grandchildren, Haze and Halei Lehman; sisters, Ruth Newton of Woodland and Betty of Boston; and brother, Emerson and Phyllis Lehman of Sunfield. Pete was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Owen Lehman; and brother-in-law, Vern Newton. A gathering to remember Pete will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Koops Funeral Chapel in Lake Odessa.
