Leik, 78, of Ionia, Michigan, passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2015, at home under the care of her children. She was born on Feb. 19, 1937, in Ionia to Vance and Alice Kauffman. She married William L. Leik on Oct. 27, 1956, in Ionia, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 7, 2008. She loved to play bingo and games, and she took pride in the fact that she helped her Dad and the Boy Scouts, coaching girls’ softball and helping with the Girl Scouts. She enjoyed going to the commission on Aging for Thursday night dinner and music. Surviving are her children, Thomas (Cathy) Leik of Portland, Patricia (Doug) Brown of Belding, Brenda VanDeusen of Orleans, and Julie (Luke) White of Belding; 10 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; brother, Don (Nora) Kauffman of Saranac; sister-in-law, Barb Kauffman of Ionia; brothers and sisters-in-law, Rosalie (Robert) Socher, Joanne (Edwin) Theis, James (Dee) Leik, and Robert (Inez) Leik, all of Portland; special cousin and friend, Janet Colwell of Ionia, and Delores Thomas of Ionia; special family friend, Mike (Sue) Kelly; special friend, Tarra Yott. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Leik; parents, Vance and Alice Kauffman; brother, Art Kauffman; mother and father-in-law, Pauline and Harold Leik; son-in-law, Rik VanDeusen; and grandson, RC Brown. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m., Tuesday, June 16, 2015, at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ionia, with Rev. Charlon O. Mason and Rev. Thomas Page con-celebrating. Rite of Committal will follow at Balcom Cemetery, Ionia. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, and from 11-12:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Lehman Funeral Homes, 220 Rich St., Ionia.
