Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard - Mon. April 24, 1944

Syrene Leiter, 88, died Saturday morning in Berlin township after a long 
illness. He was born in Ionia township October 3, 1855, and was the son of 
Martin and Ruth Leiter of New York state.

Surviving is a daughter, Mrs. Ruth Neible, of Detroit; a nephew, Glenn Lawless, 
of Ionia; a niece Mrs. Molly Watson, of Detroit. Mr. Leiter was the last of a 
family of 13 children. 

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday afternoon with a prayer service at 
2:00 o'clock at the Stone funeral home. Rev. F.G. Dunbar, pastor of the First 
Methodist church will officiate, and burial will be in Tuttle Cemetery.
