Ionia Sentinel-Standard - Tues. April 24, 2012

Ruby E. Leland, 80, of Ionia and formerly of Port Huron, passed away April 4, 
2012 in Charlotte. She was born Oct. 3, 1931 in Clinton, Ontario to the late 
Sydney and Evelyn (Krouse) Thompson.

She worked as a hair stylist for many years, was a member of VFW Ladies 
Auxiliary, enjoyed music, cats, and her loving family.

She is survived by a son, Jamie (Donna) King of Grand Ledge; daughters, Carol 
(John) Scott of Canada and Rhonda (Steve McBride) Fenlong of Portland; six 
grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and sisters, Eleanor Vargo of Sarnia, 
Ontario and Edna Racey of London, Ontario.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; brother, Harold Thompson; and 
stepson, Sam King.

A memorial gathering will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 28, 2012 
at 918 DeGroff St., Grand Ledge.
