Lemke Jr. age 69 of Muir passed away unexpectedly August 29, 2007 at his home. He was born August 10, 1938 in Ionia the son of Louis F. and Anna (Hahn) Lemke Sr. He graduated from Ionia High School in 1956. Lou married Judith Hartman on November 10, 1973. He was an Army veteran later serving in the National Guard. Lou started working for the Village of Muir in 1968 as DPW Superintendent. He was also the village of Muir Marshall and Fire Chief. Lou also worked for Richard Hull as an E.M.T and was currently working for Lake Funeral Home. He was a member of Lyons Masonic Lodge #37 and a member of the Ionia County Sheriff’s Possee. Lou is survived by his loving wife of 33 years Judith Lemke; mother, Anna Whittington; daughter, Lorraine Hills and Luke Schmitz; sons, Gary and Janeen Lemke, Mark and Lorinda Hills, Chris and Sue Lemke, Greg Lemke and daughter in law, Robin Hills; grandchildren, Tiffany and Chris, Stacy and Ryan, Jim and Charlynn, Chad, Ashley, Alicia and Mike, Brandon, Jordan, Beth, Abigail, Hannah, Morgan, Olivia, Danelle, Justin, Devon, Heather, Jodi and John, Jason, Chelsea and Kate; great grandchildren, Christian, Alicia, Brayden, Jozie, Logan and Esperanza and future grandchildren Carter and Kyleigh; sisters, Barbara and Jim Burrell, Mary and Jose Villela, Nancy and Larry Wizorek; brother, Joe and Brenda Lemke; sisters in law, Ruth and Bob Anderson , Ilene Hartman, Don and Alice Hartman; nephew, Dale Howard and many nieces and nephews. Special friends Ron and Sue Speckin and his dog and faithful companion Zoe. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M., Saturday at Lake Funeral Home in Ionia with Rev. Kenneth Harger officiating. Interment Oakwood Cemetery in Muir. The family will receive friends and relatives Friday 2-4 and 6-8:00 P.M. at Lake Funeral Home.
