Ionia Sentinel Standard, 5 Aug 1974

Elizabeth A. Lemke, 90, died Saturday morning at the Kelsey Memorial hospital
extended care unit where she had been a patient since May of 1973.  She was born
January 27, 1884, in Ionia, the daughter of Ludwig and Mary Mueller.  She was
married to Frank C. Lemke August 25, 1909.  He preceded her in death in 1939 as
did a son, Louis, in 1968.

She was a lifetime member of St. Johns Lutheran church and an honorary member of
the Ladies Aid society and a past member of the Luther society.

Survivors include three daughters: Mrs. Marie Koehn, of Howard City, Mrs.
Margaret Ross of Sheridan, Mrs. Louise Grovier of Ionia; one son, Albert Lemke
of Muir; ten grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were Monday, at 2 p.m. at the St. Johns Lutheran church, Rev.
A.R. Gallert officiated and burial was at Highland Park cemetery in the family
plot.  Following the services, a luncheon was served at the church. 
Arrangements were made by Stone-Kauffman funeral home.  Bearers were William
Lemke, Allen Benedict, Larry Wiecozrek, Louis Lemke, Jr., Ed Ruehs and Jim Bovee.
