January 14, 2023 David J. Lenneman PORTLAND-David Joseph Lenneman, of Portland, loving husband, father and grandfather passed away on January 13, 2023 a the age of 67. He was born in St.Johns, Michigan, on February 6, 1955, the son of Joseph and Julianne (Schafer)Lenneman. Dave was a long time member of St.Patrick Catholic Church. He retired from General Motors after 30 years of service. He was a very active in AA over the years, where he worked hard to support anyone who needed a sponsor or a listening ear to talk to. Dave enjoyed many hobbies including fishing, golfing, and road trips with his wife. He could often be found in his favorite chair, his wife by his side, watching sports on TV. Dave was an avid MSU Spartan and Detroit Tigers fan. His admiration for his grandchildren could be seen through cheering them on from the side lines, never missing an opportunity for a hug or a handshake, and always being the one they could count on to arrive first for their birthday parties. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Preceding Dave in death are his loving wife, of 38 years, Joyce Lenneman; his parents; brother, Dan Lenneman; father-in-law, Elgin and Marie Fox; and brother- in-law,Ron Meyers. Surviving are his children, Brad(Jade) Lenneman, Marsha (Ben) Harmon, and Brian (Brenda) Lenneman grandchildren, Kinsley, Gavin Myla, Grayson, Eli, and Banks; siblings, Ruth (Fred) Proctor, Kevin (Julie) Lenneman, Mary Lou (Paul)Simon, and Shirley (Bob) Smith; sister-in-law, Patty Lenneman; Fox in-laws, Linda Meyers, Bonnie (John) Jenks, Elgin Fox,Jr. Jane (Cliff) Sharp, and Nancy (Clay) Sharp; and many special nieces and nephews. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr.Mike Alber at 12:00p.m.,Thursday,January 19, 2023., at st.Patrick Catholic Church, Portland. Rite of Committal will follow at Portland Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 508 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 7:30 p.m. at the Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E.Bridge Street, Portland.
