Belding Banner, 28 May 1964

John E. Lent, age 81, of 1478 ½ Beidler St., Muskegon, died Monday morning at 
Muskegon Osteopathic Hospital.  Mr. Lent was a former resident of Cooks Corners 
and had lived in Muskegon about five years.  He was a member of the Church of 
God, Belding, the I.O.O.F., and had formerly worked at the Belding Co-op before 
his retirement.  In early years he had worked for the Great Northern Railway.  
He was married to the former Erma Shaw, on September 23, 1915 at Whitefish, 
Montana.  She preceded Mr. Lent in death.

Surviving are two sisters, Mrs.  Elva Wiser of Muskegon, Mrs. Iva Darnell of 
Whitefish, Montana; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday (today), 2 p.m. at the Fitzjohn-Courser 
Funeral Home with the Rev. Marvin Moser of the Church of God officiating.  
Burial will be in Otisco cemetery, Ionia county.
