Long Illness Takes Life of Mrs. Erma F. Lent

Mrs. Erma F. Lent, 66, of Cooks Corners, died Sunday evening at Barnes
Convalescent Home.  She had been ill for several months and was taken to the
convalescent home on Thursday when she became too ill to be cared for in her own
home.

Mrs. Lent was born in Mecosta county near Lakeview, June 16, 1890, the daughter
of Gleason and Estella Shaw and they had lived at Cooks Corners for 16 years. 
She was married to John Lent, September 23, 1915 at Whitefish, Mont., where they
lived for 20 years before coming back to this area.  She was a member of the
First Church of God and a very active worker until her health failed.

She is survived by her husband and one aunt, Mrs. Isabella Sprague who is now a
patient at the Barnes Home, also one cousin, Arthur Hoyt of Orleans.

Funeral services were held at Fitzjohn Funeral Home Wednesday at 2:30 with Rev.
Wilbur Kirby officiating and the burial was in Otisco cemetery.  Pallbearers
were Forest Switzer, Orval Thompson, Milan Reeves, Harold Harter, Arthur Hoyt
and Clyde Moffit.
