Leonard 70, Village Marshall and night watchman at Woodland since 1927 passed away Saturday evening at the Osteopathic Hospital, Grand Rapids, where he had been a patient for a week. A native of Grand Rapids, he has been a resident of Woodland since he was five years old. During his earlier life, he owned and operated a dray business and as a mail messenger carried mail to and from the CK&S depot to the Post Office until the railroad was discontinued. He also worked on the CK&S for three years. Surviving are his wife, Mae, two daughters, Mrs Ardith Lampman of Grand Rapids and Mrs Colette Greiner of Woodland; one sister Mrs James Cramer of Blain, Washington, and two grandchildren. Mr. Leonard reposed at the Wing and Pickens Funeral Home at Woodland until noon Wednesday and then taken to the Woodland UB Church where funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. with burial in Woodland Memorial Cemetery.
