Mrs. Dessie E. Lepard, 79, lifelong resident of Lake Odessa, died Monday evening
at her home on Route 2.  She had been ill for some time.  She was born January
31, 1876 in Barry county, the daughter of John and Elizabeth Bachelder.  On
February 6, 1884 she was married to Bert Lepard and the company celebrated their
sixtieth wedding anniversary this year.  They have lived on the same farm since
1920.  She was a member of the Grace Baptist church.

Surviving besides her husband are one daughter, Mrs. Royal Haller Sr., and one
son, Forrest, both of Lake Odessa and seven grandchildren and seven
great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Lepard reposes at the family residence until Thursday morning when the body
will be removed to Pickens funeral chapel where services will be held at 1 p.m.
with the Rev. Robert Griffith, pastor of Grace Baptist church, officiating,
assisted by the Rev. Paul Miller.  Burial will be in Lakeside cemetery.
