Lake Odessa Wave 
          LAFAYETTE LEPARD DIED WEDNESDAY
   Lafayette Lepard, 93 retired farmer and lifelong resident of this area passed
away Wednesday afternoon at the Dittman Nursing home at Sturgis where he had been 
a patient for three weeks.  He had been ill for several years.
   He was a member of the evangelical U. B. Church.
   Mr. Lepard married Rachel Bell May 29, 1890 and she passed away five years ago. 
They had lived on their farm west of town before moving to their home in the village 
ten years ago.
   Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Chester Hesterly, Lake Odessa;  three sons, Dr.
Olln Lepard of Sturgis, Sherman, owner of the Medical Arts Pharmacy, Grand Rapids;  and 
Ivan of Lake Odessa;  one brother, Bert Lepard of Lake Odessa;  13 grand children and 
21 great grand children.
   Funeral services were held Monday at 1:30 at the Evangelical United Brethren
Church with burial in Lakeside cemetery.  Rev. W. D. Hayes officiated.
