Sentinel-Std. - Thursday, Oct. 10, 1968

William Lesky, 79, of 314 High, died Wednesday evening at Grand Rapids 
Osteopathic hospital after being a patient there the past 12 days.

He was born in Remus, December 31, 1888, the son of John and Katherine 
Lesky. He attended school in Remus and later farmed in that area.

He was married to Agnes Abel, February 12, 1919 at St. Michael's Catholic 
church in Remus. they left there in 1921 and came to Ionia and made their 
home here since.

For a short time he worked for the Grand Trunk railroad and at Staffords 
Foundry before accepting employment at Ionia County Road Commission, where 
he worked 27 years, retiring in 1955. 

Surviving are his wife Agnes, four sons, Albert, John and James, all of 
Ionia, and William Jr. of Fort Huachuca, Ariz., with the armed forces: eight 
daughters, Dorothy Lesky, Mrs. Harrison Hildebrandt of Indianapolis, Ind., 
Mrs. Ernest Gomensen of Grand Rapids, Mrs. James Langdon of Indianapolis, 
Ind., Mrs. William Seymour of Naperville, Ill, Mrs. Joseph Schueller of 
Ionia, Mrs. David Cahill of Biloxi, Miss., and Mrs. Robert Bennett of Ionia; 
36 grandchildren; one brother, Thomas of Blanchard and one sister, Margaret 
Lesky of Ionia.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 22 a.m. at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic 
church. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Rosary will be recited at 7:30 pm Friday at Boynton-Leddick funeral home.

Family will be at the funeral home Thursday and Friday evenings.
