Lake Odessa Wave 
          SERVICES HELD FOR JOSEPH A. LESLIE
   Joseph A. Leslie Sr., 84 passed away Friday morning at the Provincial House at
Hastings where he had been a patient since Nov. 17 and following a long illness.
   He was born May 3, 1885, in Ontario, Canada, son of Mrs. and Mrs. George Leslie,
and had been a resident of Lake Odessa for 50 years.
   Mr. Leslie was employed at the Lake Odessa Canning Co. for many years, retiring
12 years ago.  In 1927 he married Mattie Kendall who survives with three daughters, Mrs. 
Gerald (Marie) Kruger, Mrs. Helen Blundell, Mr. Jerry (Shirley) Raymond;  a son, Joseph 
Jr;  two stepsons, Howard and Harold Kendall,  all of Lake Odessa;  four daughters by a 
former marriage, Mrs. Bernice Larose and Mrs. Lillian Blanding, both of Greenville;  
Mrs. Hazel Smith of Belding and Mrs. Ted (Elizabeth) Richard of Lapeer, and 19 
grandchildren.
   Funeral services were held Monday at 1:30 at the Pickens Funeral Chapel at Lake
Odessa.  Rev. Norman Wibert officiated, with burial in Lakeside Cemetery.
